Chickpea Buffalo "Chicken" Recipe


This recipe is a delicious buffalo chicken alternative! I've been playing around with different chickpea recipes lately and this is definitely one of my favorites! I made this for the first time and put it over romaine lettuce and avocado and drizzled Follow Your Heart Vegan Caesar dressing on top. This would be great to spread on Wasa or GG crackers or to add to a quesadilla (dairy free for me)! It's super easy and took me about 15 minutes to make. 

You will need:

1 tbsp vegetable oil  1 medium sized red onion, chopped (add as much/little as you prefer) 1 tbs minced garlic 1 can of chickpeas 1/4 cup tomato sauce 3 tbsp hot sauce (or more to taste)  3 tbsp plant-based milk 

Salt and pepper to taste 

Instructions:

  • Using a fork, roughly mash the chickpeas in a bowl.

  • Heat oil in a pan/skillet over medium heat. Add red onions. Cook for 3 minutes, then add garlic.

  • Add the chickpeas and sauce ingredients.

  • Sir occasionally then enjoy!
